Objective

Vision

Youth IGF Canada’s mission is to ensure Canadian youth representation at every Internet governance-related event, both nationally and internationally. We collect data, write reports, and advocate for young Canadians to have access to a trustworthy and open Internet.

Our vision is to provide a space and platform for the next generation of Canadian Internet leaders.

Background

Youth IGF Canada was developed in late 2018 by University of Toronto undergraduate students. Throughout 2019 the organization developed key ties in Canadian Internet governance spaces. At the start of 2020, Youth IGF Canada dissolved following graduation dates for its founders. In 2023, the organization was revitalized by Dana Cramer, a PhD student in the Toronto Metropolitan University and York University joint-graduate program in Communication and Culture. Youth IGF Canada holds a position on the All Hands Committee of the Canadian IGF.
